Psyche

Xavier's that guy who never grew out of his schoolboy sense of humor: Fart jokes are funny, he frequently quotes old Vines, and still fucks around with Blingee when making promotional content for himself. He enjoys acting like a dumbass. He enjoys acting like a dumbass but isn't actually a dumbass. Well, not all of the time, anyway. He's very passionate about music and is extremely dedicated when he starts a new project. Dedication is a blessing and a curse, as he is guilty of sidelining relationships and tending to basic needs because he tells himself he must finish what he is working on before he can eat, sleep, etc. He just has to.Xavier was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) at age 11 and obsessive thinking is apparent in more than just his dedication to his music. It follows him into his social life, where obsessive thoughts interrupt his ability to eat well and enjoy a meal with others. Adding recovering from anorexia nervosa is just the icing on the cake.Xavier attempts to hide his suffering and recovery through making jokes, taking risks, and being easy-going. If he appears fine, dandy, and "down for whatever," then he is fine! That, and doing something reckless or silly offers a distraction from his unhealthy thinking habits. He's a lot of fun he's just going thru it.

Biography

Our DJ Icarus was born as a fussy little girl named Genevieve Auclair in Montreal, Canada, on a crisp Halloween morning to Louis and Charlotte Auclair. Altogether they made a modest family, with Louis working as a physical therapist and Charlotte an occupational therapist at a local inpatient facility.Early on, our Icarus had no real concept of gender. As a young child, Icarus was given toys that were "gendered" for boys and girls: Icarus had a pretend kitchen set and baby dolls, but also toy trucks and a bubble-blowing lawnmower. They were allowed to learn piano, guitar, and drums and learn to skateboard. They could dress in jeans and t-shirts as they preferred. They didn't really identify as a boy or girl, though they were referred to as a girl. It didn't really matter to them, yet- All the boys and girls in their class all looked the same physically, anyway. It wasn't until Icarus and their female classmates were separated from the male classmates in grade 5 for education on puberty that Icarus began to realize that they did not feel like a girl. What do you mean that girls will bleed once a month? What do you mean that girls will develop breasts and wide hips? Follow what healthy and balanced diet so that everything develops "as it should"??In that moment, our DJ runs their hands down their front, taking comfort that no breast buds had formed. But then the word yet trickles in, and thus begins Icarus's obsessive, harmful thinking and restrictive eating. If I only eat a little, I won't grow breasts or big hips. I will stay as I am now.By grade 7, doctors are worried about Icarus being underweight but believe that they are just a "late bloomer" when it comes to puberty. To Icarus's delight, they have not developed breasts nor started menstruating. But to their displeasure, the boys in their class have changed: Broader shoulders, more muscle tone, some even had wisps of facial hair and deep voices. No breasts. Icarus finds themselves longing for that.. and hating themselves because now they looked different from everyone.First, Icarus told their parents that they were lesbian. They weren't trans; Just gay. That'd go down easier, right? Their parents were kind of accepting. Sort of. They thought it would be a "phase" Icarus would outgrow. Even so, they put Icarus in music lessons after school so that they didn't have time to "experiment" with girls. Icarus didn't mind at all; It took their mind off of how different and gross they felt. Music was a release. Music didn't discriminate. In their Freshman year of high school, Icarus is given their own laptop. How joyous it was to have free-reign over the internet. They download Logic onto their computer and begin creating music digitally. They discover tumblr dot com ( hell yea ) and find like-minded people. Online, they could fully be themselves. They could be the boy that they truly were on the internet. He could be the boy he truly was on the internet. It was freeing. He developed a close friendship with a girl in Japan named Hinata, and the two talked nearly everyday. They kept each other's secrets, shared their dreams, and supported each other. Hinata had a lot of obsessive thoughts, too, and struggled with body image. Talking to his best friend made each day a little easier. Thanks, internet. But there were elements of the internet that tightened the deadly grip anorexia had on him. Blogs with "tips" on how to stay thin, stop your period, and avoid further development. At age 16, Icarus is hospitalized after passing out in gym class. It is here that his secret of disordered eating is revealed. He tries to reveal his secret of being a boy, too, but his parents say it's just the "anorexia talking," and that once she finishes intensive inpatient treatment for disordered eating, she will feel normal again.Icarus is unable to finish high school due to frequent hospitalizations and inpatient treatments for his anorexia and obtains his GED at age 18. He didn't really care. Not going to school gave him more time to produce music. During this 2 year period (between ages 16-18), he and Hinata remained close, despite frequent silences between the two when Icarus was in therapy. Hinata's dream of becoming a Jpop idol was coming true, and the two would Skype call when one of Hinata's singles, an interview, or music video would drop. Hinata encourages Icarus to continue to pursue his dream of becoming a DJ and music producer. One day, they'll make a song together. He's gained a small following on the internet producing and mastering music. He makes a livable wage selling beats and mastering music online. At age 20, he moves out of his parents' house and into a small apartment. No longer having to rely on his parents, Icarus fully comes out as a trans man and informs his parents that he is now Xavier, not Genevieve. They're in denial, so he's cut them off for now.Xavier begins hormone therapy a few months after moving out of his parents' home, and gets multiple gender affirming surgeries over the next few years. He's made some friends in the local club scene and performs almost-nightly DJ sets at a popular nightclub in Montreal. He releases two EPs over the next 4 years and has visited his best friend, Hinata, a few times. Xavier's finally who he wants to be. Well, other than being a big-time musician. But that would happen soon enough.Xavier's in Japan at a party celebrating the success of Hinata's most recent album (under the name Kaguya Hime). She's in the middle of telling him that she's been given more liberties from her record label when she pops the question: Would Xavier produce her next album? It was to be her first full-English album and she wanted him to be apart of it. It was her dream for them to make music together, after all. Of course he agrees.Kaguya Hime's Online Friends album is dropped two years later and is widely successful. The global tour is announced shortly after and Xavier's career is forever changed: Icarus is requested in nightclubs across the world and on speed dial for pop girlies that want a dance hit.

Hinata is a wallflower. She blooms quietly, slowly, gently, in her own corner while cheering on the flowers in the middle of the garden. She has a tendency to put others and their needs before her own. This can cause her to become overwhelmed and become self-deprecating. However, as she's gotten older, she's become more aware of this unhealthy cycle and she is doing her best to break it.But breaking a cycle does not mean she intends to be more cynical or deny her caring nature. She will find ways to grow- Even if she gets burned along the way. While Hinata may self-deprecate, she is no self-defeatist. She will continue to work towards a goal until she achieves it.Regardless of what Hinata is doing, she is utmost polite and poised. But don't let that fool you ; She does have a silly side. She is capable of light teasing and behaving in a child-like manner for a laugh. She must know you well enough to do so, though; Her shy nature would never allow her to goof off with someone she does not know well. Her shyness does the same when it comes to lighting her fire; She will douse her flame at a stranger but will allow it to flicker and glow when it comes to someone she cares about. Hinata is not a cruel person but she can become hard-headed and matter-of-fact when she is angry-- If she knows you well enough, of course. Her anger is always out of love.

"And like the moon, we must go through phases of emptiness to feel full again."

Biography

A modern story based loosely on the Japanese folktale The Bamboo Cutter and the Moon-Child.Warning: This page will feature potentially triggering content: Stillbirth and maternal death.

The pregnant woman runs her fingers across the happy-faced dog printed on the token she received from the shrine during her obiiwai, a feeling of calm spreading over her. This was to be her first child and she wanted to ensure a safe delivery. She was happy that her own mother was able to attend the ceremony when her husband wasn’t. He was away, trying very hard to establish a stable home for his young wife and unborn child. The wife was to spend the last few months of her pregnancy within her childhood home in the countryside, as was tradition in Japan. But despite her prayers and tokens of good fortune, the delivery does not go well. The birth is very difficult on the wife and she delivers a stillborn infant a month early. She is overwhelmed by grief and shame. How was she to tell her husband that whilst he was out working his hardest to provide for the family, that she had failed to deliver him a healthy child? The wife only had a few days before her husband would arrive to see their new baby. What was she to do?On the day her husband is to arrive at her family’s home, the wife feels the bamboo forest behind the house calling to her. She disappears amongst the culms, anticipation building within her. But for what? She continues on, ignoring the distant honking of her husband’s car signaling that he had arrived at the home. Her parents mean to stall him but he quickly goes after his wife into the forest, still unaware that his child was stillborn, anxious and excited to meet the new addition to their family. And he is not disappointed. He meets his wife on her way back, eyes bright and tearful as she carries a sleeping infant in a very large shoot of bamboo. It was bizarre way to carry an infant but the absolute glow that radiated from his wife and the infant he believes to be his child melts that thought away. The wife— Now mother— Does not mention to her husband of their stillborn and that she found this abandoned baby girl amongst shoots of bamboo. And her own parents never question the infant, either, or her mysterious moon-like eyes, believing it to be a miracle. And more miracles followed. The new little family returned to the city, where the husband - now father- Received a profound raise and advancement within the pharmaceutical company he worked for. The mother and father named the child Hinata, as she was a bright patch of sunshine in their lives; Good fortune followed her. The father realizes that whenever he speaks of something he desires with his daughter within earshot, it miraculously happens. And so, over the next 5 years, the family continues to prosper. The father wishes for a large manner and a promotion. It happens. The mother wishes for another child and a pregnancy follows. And Hinata wishes for her family’s happiness. It is all she has ever wanted. The wished-for second pregnancy is difficult on the mother. In the later stages of the pregnancy she finds herself extremely fatigued, dizzy, and bleeding. The father is concerned for his wife’s well-being as is their now five year-old daughter Hinata. As the mother develops signs of entering labor she shares with the father the true origins of their firstborn and that the magic they were witnessing was indeed true. The father’s worry eases. He will just wish for a healthy delivery and all will be fine. But misfortune falls upon the family. Hinata’s fear and anxiety over her mother’s well-being makes it impossible to perform her gift of wish-granting. While the new baby- another girl- Arrives safely, the mother hemorrhages and dies soon after giving birth. The father is overwhelmed with grief, confusion, and anger. Why had the child his wife found in the bamboo forest not fulfilled her unspoken promise? Why did the mother have to die?Following this tragic event, Hinata’s ability to grant wishes begins to diminish. She's learned that she isn't biologically her parents' child, and her father is perpetually angry with her for letting her mother die and the young girl is overwhelmed with guilt. She cannot fulfill wishes and make her father happy when she is so unhappy. Her father grows to resent Hinata and instead favors his biological daughter, Hanabi. Luckily, Hinata’s younger sister does not share her father’s feelings, and the two have a very loving relationship. Hanabi makes Hinata feel somewhat a normal person even though she knows deep down she is not. She only truly feels normal when she’s looking up at the moon.Hinata’s self-confidence slowly begins to return when she is sent to an all-girl boarding school at age 12 along with her sister, now age 7. The physical distance from her father does wonders to ease her stress, and making friends her own age improves her self-esteem and self-worth. Her teachers are kind and loving and they encourage her to explore her interests and talents. Being at the academy offers a distraction from the difficult feelings Hinata carries from her life at home. Feelings that always resurface over summer holiday when she has to return home.University offers some solace, too, until Hinata reaches the age of 20 and her father decides to stop supporting her financially because she’s reached adulthood. Hinata is able to finish out her 4th semester of university, netting her an associates degree, but is unable to further her education without financial support. Another heavy cloud blankets her life and blots out her sunshine. Due to her father’s wealth, Hinata has never had to work a job nor has she ever had to worry about managing money. She had no skills for living independently. On her last night at university, Hinata stares longingly at the moving and prays for a miracle- Something she has not been able to perform in awhile. The moon must’ve taken pity on her, for an old friend of her mother’s appears from nowhere and graciously takes Hinata into her home. But not without expectations. Hinata must find a job and keep the house tidy. Eventually, she would be expected to help pay for utilities. In return, the family friend would teach Hinata how to be financially responsible and how to survive on her own. For the next few years, Hinata would work various jobs to build up her resume and save money before moving out on her own. In her spare time, she studied the stars and the planets, with a particular fascination about the moon. Wtih financial stability and a skillset came a better sense of self-worth and self-confidence. And a touch of her magic returns. It is on another night of a full moon that Hinata wishes for a job to keep her afloat so that she can begin her journey of true self-discovery. For most of her life she’s been trying to please and tend to the needs of others. Another chunk of her life has been dedicated to working tirelessly to make ends meet. No time to process the difficult feelings surrounding her childhood, nor her strange pull to the moon. No time to figure out what she enjoys doing or who she would like to spend time with. She needed those things. The following day that Hinata decides to visit a local science center and planetarium. Whilst there, Hinata runs into a small family with a 10 year old boy with lots of questions that his parents could not answer. Hinata takes the liberty to explain to the curious boy the in-depth compositions of all the planets in the solar system. The family is delighted by her knowledge and warm demeanor, and the parents jokingly suggest she get a job as a guide with the museum. Hinata’s good deed does not go unnoticed; the lead curator of the space exhibitis had observed the interaction and urged Hinata to apply for an exhibit guide position. She does so and obtains the position. At age 28, Hinata has been working for the museum as a guide for 3 years. It pays enough for her to live on her own and have “fun” money to spend on non-essential items and treat herself. It is tiring work and there are times she does not like having to put on a fake smile and repeat the same facts about the solar system every day, but it allows her to live comfortably. And more importantly, it gives her time to figure out who she is: Why she used to be able to grant major wishes, why she’s so drawn to the moon, and the true origins of her birth. While she has never been told that she is not her parents’ biological child, deep down she’s always known.

tl;dr: Hinata is from the moon but doesn't know it. Like the classic tale, she brings good fortune to those closest to her. However, her father grows to resent her after she is unable to use her wish-granting powers to safe the mother from death. Hinata's self-esteem diminishes as does her ability to grant wishes.

The Colony on the Moon

The following is just some general information on the alien species Hinata belongs to.

This is the standard appearance of an Otsutsuki alien prior to Earth human DNA absorbtion: Paper white transclucent skin, androgynous build with no secondary sex characteristics, hair devoid of pigment. Skin cannot tolerate sunlight.

Note: This alien race loosely off of Ōtsutsuki Clan lore from Naruto and the Asari species from Mass Effect.

Otsutsuki Species

The Otsutsuki are an ever-changing species of alien from a far-off and unknown galaxy. They do not have a concept of gender and all have the same reproductive organs. They seek to perfect their own species by assimilating the DNA of other species. Due to this goal, they are spread out across different galaxies. They are capable of creating dimensional rifts and teleportation in addition to X-ray vision, super strength, rapid healing, and telepathy. Telepathy and rift creation allows for different colonies to remain in touch over vast distances.

Despite being spread-out and mingling with different species, all Otsutsuki share similar physical traits: Bipedalism, 2-3 pupiless eyes, translucent skin, mainly androgynous builds. They are a tall and thin species.

As mentioned previously, the Otsutsuki’s main goal is to perfect their race. They are capable of absorbing and utilizing the DNA of other species. Otsutsuki perform DNA assimilation is done by ingesting the blood of another being and allowing the obtained DNA code rewrite part of their own DNA. If an Otsutsuki does not wish to alter their own DNA, they are able to reproduce through a form of parthenogenesis: Taking the DNA from the blood and their own to create an embyro. The birthing process is similar to that of a human’s and all Otsutsuki are capable of reproducing in this asexual-esque sort of way.

However, the colony of Otsutsuki on the moon have adopted the concept of gender from planet Earth, thus Otsutsuki that identify as women most often partake in reproduction- Though this is not always the case.

A millennium ago, the moon became the home for a small colony of Otsutsuki with the purpose of assimilating DNA from Earth’s human race. The colony stationed on the moon believed that absorbing human genetic material would increase their resistances to sun exposure and toxins commonly found on oxygen rich planets. They were correct in this assumption: Their resistances to sunlight and toxins increased. However, human DNA also came with drawbacks: They now needed sleep and sunlight. They could no longer go long periods without eating and also lost their abilities to teleport out of Earth’s solar system and could no longer communicate via telepathy. eing unable to teleport long distances meant they were stuck. Stranded. Unable to contact other members of their specifies across the universe. Lost.

So the Ōtsutsuki colony sits and waits, watching humans on earth and copying their technologies and agricultural techniques to sustain life for their species on the moon. Waiting, hoping, and praying that humans will evolve into something more useful so that they can reconnect with the rest of their species. But a thousand years is a long wait. Arguments break loose between the colonists and a caste system is formed, with those that who received the least amount of setbacks from human DNA as the Main branch, and the rest the Side branch. The side branch are to obey the Main house without question.

Over the years, the Main branch carefully selects humans to draw blood from to produce offspring with. The Main branch selects DNA for both Main and Side branches of the colony.

DNA selection requires some form of recon. Therefore, many Otsutsuki have chosen to develop more human-like physical characteristics to be able to hide in plain sight on Earth. These characteristics include different hair colors and skin tones, altering height, and developing secondary sex characteristics (ie breasts, facial hair, adam’s apple, etc). Most often, Side branch members are sent on recon missions. Blood is collected by puncturing human skin with a small needle and vial when “Accidentally” bumping into a human, taking it when they are asleep, etc.

Abilities

Note: These are abilities that all Otsutsuki should have access to, unless they have mingled with an inferior species and evolution in reverse occurs. This has happened to the Moon colony.

  • Space-time manipulation (Moon colony unable)

  • Teleportation (Limited use in the moon colony; Unable to travel out of the solar system)

  • X-ray vision

  • Telepathy (Moon colony unable)

  • Enhanced strength

  • Accelerated healing

  • Reproduction through partial parthenogenesis

Tidbits & Beliefs

  • Good of the colony > Good of the individual

  • Hive Minded

  • Survival of the fittest

  • Emotions are unnecessary

  • Leadership through power and control is Good

  • Do not intervene with human affairs

Girl, Grounded

Our heroine, Hinata, was born into the Main branch of the colony. Specifically, she is the daughter of the colony’s current leader, meaning she will one day be responsible for the entire colony and the task of picking the best human specimens for DNA collection. Leading is her birh right.. Or it should have been.

Unfortunately for the colony, Hinata does not share the same clinical view of humans that her brethren do. Where her people view humans as test subjects and inferior beings, Hinata sees humans as a species with rich cultures, art, music, and self expression. There is so much diversity and independence amongst humans, where her people operate in a very hive-like mindset. Stealing the genetic code of an unconsenting species feels wrong to her. Hinata begins her training to be a leader by age 5 in human years. But it is by age 12 that her parent has deemed her unworthy to lead.

At age 12, Hinata goes against two core values set by her people: Survival of the fittest and never intervening with human affairs. Oh, how she wanted a friend. Oh, how nice it would be to attend school and go to festivals and learn to ride a bike. She found herself observing one human boy around her age most often, longing to know him and to understand him. He was so full of light and energy. Not a care in the world— Just as it should be for children. When that boy’s light threatened to go dim as a speeding vehicle failed to slow down as it approached him, Hinata intervenes via teleportation at the last minute, saving his life.

..And costing her her own. Her life on the moon, that is.

Saving the boy was the cherry on top of all of Hinata’s other faults: Using her heart to make decisions instead of her brain, a meek personality, physical weakness, and a reluctance to use physical punishment on disobedient colony members. “You are never thinking of the colony,” She is told. “You are only thinking of yourself- and those humans.” As punishment, Hinata is given a dangerous task: Inhabiting Earth long-term. Something that had yet to be done by anyone from the colony. Leadership was still uncertain that their species could function on Earth when exposed to all of their pathogens long-term.

Hinata is sent to live with one of the few human contacts the Colony has- A young scientist named Kurenai Yuhi- in Tokyo, Japan, Earth. It is there that Hinata is raised as a human child under the name Hinata Hyuuga, niece of Kurenai Yuhi.

At first, adjustment to life on planet Earth was difficult. For one, the temperature changes were much less drastic than the ones on the moon, where days could reach 250 degrees fahrenheit and days could reach -410 degrees fahrenheit. Then there was the socialization aspect: There were so many people to talk to on Earth; The population was HUGE. Hinata’s shyness only grew upon moving to planet Earth. For the first few years, she was very meek and had few friends. Despite having a huge love and interest in Earth human culture, adjusting and fitting into that culture was no walk in the park. It is not until Hinata reaches Japan’s age of adulthood, 18, that she begins to feel truly human. At this point she has been on Earth for 6 years.

Whilst making friends with humans was difficult for her, making friends with plants was not. Hinata was absolutely facinated by plants and their biology. How diverse and beautiful plants could be! She admired how plants could be so resilient, such as garden weeds growing up through cracks in concrete. Perhaps she loved plants so much because there weren’t any on the moon. Or perhaps it is because she felt similar to the garden weed in the concrete: Growing and thriving in an environment where she was expected to fail.

It is no surprise that she pursues an education in botany at the University of Tokyo. And it was no surprise that she excelled given her passion in addition to being able to utilize her species’ x-ray vision to examine cells with ease (not that her colleagues knew). Hinata spends the next 7 years in university and graduates at age 25 with a master’s degree in ecological botany.

Hinata is currently employed at a large botanical garden in Tokyo as a researcher. While she enjoys her life passing as a human, she carries a level of an anxiety each day. When will she be called back to the moon? Will she be called back to the moon? And if she is, will she go?

tl;dr: Hinata is exiled from the moon after saving a human child. Her colony felt she was too self-centered and never thinking of the clan first. She is adopted by a human contact named Kurenai Yūhi in Japan, where she goes on to study botany as an adult. She works as a researcher in a botanical garden in Tokyo.

"And like the moon, we must go through phases of emptiness to feel full again."

Biography

Remember: This is largely headcanon based! There are mentions of suicidal ideation below.

The war has ended. Upon returning home from war, Hinata finds herself in a deep depression after the death of her cousin, Neji. The two had become incredibly close prior and during the war, and it was a grief Hinata had never really experienced before. She had lost her mother, but it was not the same, as she was quite young when her mother died. Neji had been her confidant and closest friend. There were times where Hinata flipped back and forth between wanting to grow strong for Neji’s sake and wanting to end her own life.

Neji’s death had another impact on her life: Hinata has come to realize that remaining with her clan isn’t something she desires. The one person who truly cared for her within her clan is now dead. And although he may have protected her by his own choice, he was also bound to protect her by rules of her clan. And that sickens her– She wants no part in it. She doesn’t want to be part of this cycle any longer. She wants to be free as Neji felt free.

Both the war and Neji’s death has had a profound impact on Hiashi, too. He’s realized how awful he’s treated his eldest daughter. Afraid he’ll permanently end all hope of healing his relationship with Hinata, he allows her to pursue goals outside of Hyuuga clan affairs. Hinata’s relationship with her father is healing, but it will never be the father-daughter relationship he desires. But they are trying.

It is through the power of friendship, self-care, and therapy that Hinata perseveres through her sinking depression. Her teammates encourage her to continue to do things that she loves: Gardening, knitting, and spending time with her ‘niece,’ Mirai Sarutobi. About a year after the war, Hinata has new goals for herself: To become the best shinobi she can be and to join the Konoha Military Police force. She has began to let go of the pain her family has caused her and is healing.

The idea of being a military police officer really calls to her: She’s tired of seeing violence used as the answer in the society she lives in. Violence is never something she liked participating in, despite it being forced upon her at an early age. Serenity radiates from her, and she wishes to use her soft nature to show civilians ( and other shinobi ) that conflict can be solved without the use of violence. She wants to make Konoha a better place for everyone.

Two years after the war, Hinata has joined the Konoha Police Academy and is studying/training to become an officer. However, this is also the time that Hanabi is captured by Toneri. It is when Hanabi is captured by Toneri that the Hyuuga Elders begin to look at her as more than just another shinobi for the Hyuuga clan. Her father and elders witnesses just how much Hinata is willing to sacrifice for her sister— For her clan. She was willing to give up the world. Her family no longer regards her as “too kind,” for they are now aware of how fiercely she battles an opponent. She is not tentative; For she r i p p e d the eyes right out of a man’s sockets. She was able to save Hanabi when they were not. She is perfect for the position of heiress.

Upon returning home from this mission to rescue Hanabi, Hinata’s father and the clan elders hold a great respect for Hinata. They urge her to take on the role as heiress again. However, Hinata is no longer the meek girl who agrees without question any longer. She is a confident young woman with her own ambitions. She declines. The heiress life is not for her. The title was never hers– It was always Hanabi’s. Hanabi was deeply impacted by Neji’s death just as her elder sister was, and she, too, wished to end the Branding practice. Hanabi will be the one to lead the Hyuuga clan to greatness. Hinata will be the one who forges her own path.

Due to the great service she’s done for her clan by saving Hanabi, and because her father felt guilty for treating her so poorly growing up, Hinata is allowed to move out of the compound. However, there is a catch to her freedom: Hinata is branded. The seal rests on her forehead, hidden beneath her curtain of bangs. That was the cost of her freedom.

Several months after moving out of the Hyuuga Compound, Hinata graduates from the police academy and joins the Konoha military police force. A majority of her work is done with both the Search & Rescue unit and the Forensics Unit. Her Byakugan makes collecting evidence and saving others much easier.

Hinata moves out of the Hyuuga compound after the war ends. Through therapy and friendship, she is able to cope with the grief of losing her cousin Neji. One who wants to show others that violence is not always the answer, Hinata chooses to join the Konoha military police force. After saving Hanabi from Toneri, she is offered the position of heiress again, to which she declines. The title is Hanabi’s. The cost of leaving the Hyuuga compound and doing her own thing is that she is branded on her forehead./p>

The Moon Sage

The following is headcanon-based. My Hinata obtains the Tenseigan and other abilities possessed by Hamura Otsutuki after obtaining his chakra in The Last.

By inheriting Otutsuki chakra, Hinata began to feel a strong pull towards the moon, towards where her newfound chakra felt at home. She often had strange dreams at night in which she is visited by a stone golem. With the Otutsuki chakra in her veins, she is able to freely teleport to and from the moon, just as Toneri had been able to. One day, she makes the journey when the desire for the moon is very strong.

Because her Hyuuga chakra has mixed with an Otsutsuki’s, Hinata has been granted the ability to use the Tenseigan. Like the Byakugan, the Tenseigan is initially awakened through experiencing a traumatic event. In Hinata’s case, it was watching a hostage be killed during a call she was on while on-duty as a police officer. Perhaps this ability to use the Tenseigan is what has been drawing her to the moon ..

Upon arriving on the moon, Hinata found herself pulled towards a cave filled with crystals. In this cave, Hinata sensed an abundance of natural energy, as well as a large crystal mass on a gigantic stone in the center of the cave. Her new chakra edged her closer, encouraging her to touch the crystal-covered rock. She does so and the ground rumbles. The stone rock shifts, erupting from the ground, revealing the fact that it was a Kurama-sized man of stone covered in crystal- A golem. The same golem that had been appearing in her mind.

Like the golem used in the battle against Toneri, this golem held Hamura Otsutsuki's face, though its horns and hair were made of sea-green crystals. It's name was Touma, and it recognized Hamura's chakra within Hinata, stating that it was created by Hamura and held a unique relationship with him- The Otutsuki leader had invoked it with a great power. Should Hinata train with it, she too, could have access to this power.

This power turned out to be the Tenseigan Chaka Mode- A unique midway between Sage Mode and Six Paths Senjutsu. Hinata trained and meditated with the golem within the cave, learning to balance her chakra and spirit with the natural energies in the mystical cave. She was warned that if she were to fail, she would be transformed into stone. When training with the golem, Hinata learned that Toneri had undergone this training, too, though his heart did not hold the same peace as hers did. His was filled with desire for power. She was better suited for the art of the Tenseigan Chakra Mode.

For many months, Hinata remains on the moon with Touma until the Tenseigan Chakra Mode is mastered. Touma said that it recognized a sense of peace in her and knew that she would not abuse such power. And the golem was right: Outside of the cave, Hinata has rarely used on the Chakra Mode. She has decided to only use such power to defend a great number of people, and only when the enemy held great power.

Even so, her abilities have been spread amongst the village, and she is deemed the Moon Sage.

  1. +Levitation. Like those with Six Path Senjutsu abilities, Hinata is able to float/levitate about the battlefield./li>
  2. +Teleportation. Like many members of Otsutsuki clan, Hinata is able to teleport through time and space, but has never attempted the former.
  3. +Truth-Seeking Balls. The amount varies, just as Toneri's had.
  4. +Increased speed, stamina, reflexes, perception, etc. Similar to Sage Mode.
  5. +Reincarnation explosions. Similar to what Toneri uses.
  6. +Summoning: Touma. Hinata can summon Touma the golem to fight long her side
  7. +Gravitational push and pull. Like the Deva Path of the Rinnegan, Hinata is able to manipulate gravity around objects, pushing and pulling them to and away from herself. Can she move the moon? She hasn't tried.
  8. + Can see the bottom line of the eye test chart.

Idk like Toneri but cooler.
